Rhoda Wilson Shortlisted For Inspirational Woman of The Year At The Women4Africa Awards
Rhoda Wilson is the producer and executive producer of Housewives & Girlfriends a brand new TV series to hit Africa Magic on the 16th of October 2015 with a strong cast of 62 in season 1. Heralded as one of the most expensive TV series filmed in the UK by Nollywood UK, Season 1 credit roll was 62 which consisted of 53 cast and 9 crew members and included many of the most influential members of the Nollywood Diaspora based in the UK. It is also the first TV series made by Nollywood UK that was acquired international broadcaster; African Magic (M-NET/DSTV). Season 2 will be even bigger and better than before.
Housewives & Girlfriends is a 30 minutes drama with comical undertone set in London, UK which is created and produced by Rhoda Wilson.
Rhoda Wilson was born in Lagos, Nigeria and later attended one of England’s top boarding schools, Hurtwood House in Holmbury St Mary Dorking. A former energy credit analyst, a holder of BA in Business Studies and a Masters Degree in Financial Management, Rhoda Wilson started The Rhoda Wilson show in 2005 on OBE TV.
In 2008 The Rhoda Wilson Show moved to BEN TV (Sky Channel 184) aired weekly, had a viewership of circa 1,300,000 per show in 2010. With a wide mix of subject matter, Rhoda selects her guests with the central theme of inspiration and motivation. The 30 minute show consists of interviews based on the lives of inspirational and growing talent across the UK. The Show ran for eight years until 2013.
As well as profiling a variety of guests Rhoda Wilson has also appeared on a number of publications, TV and radio shows including BBC World Service, VoxAfrica, Bang Radio, BBC radio 4, MIPTV Cannes (France), February 2014 In-flight Magazine of Etihad Airways, Colourful Radio, World Content Markets (Prague), Africast Abuja (Nigeria) and several other publications across world.
In 2013 Rhoda Wilson created and produced a new TV series called Housewives and Girlfriends and was successfully launched on the 8th of March 2014.
Rhoda has been in the media industry for 13 years and has established contacts in the media world especially across Europe and the US following the last 3 years continuous visit to MIPTV Cannes. She has experience in all aspect of the management of production from pre-development, production and post-production and used her financial background to manage production budget.
Her business experience includes financial management, contracts negotiation and project management.
